Donut is the Red's enthusiastic rookie. He tends to get on his teams' nerves, often rambling on about subjects that are of no interest to the other soldiers and his mannerisms in general.
A recurring gag between both the Reds and Blues is that they both joke about his sexuality and gender, the Blues even mistaking him for a girl in his pink armor at first. Despite the fact he insists his armor is 'lightish-red' he does eventually admit it's quite comfortable and refers to it as being pink. Despite denying all accusations about his apparent homosexuality, he frequently says or does things that prove this opinion further. Like calling 'shotgun's lap' when the Reds are calling seating positions in the Warthog, among the more obvious examples.
Donut's also not the brightest crayon in the box, which seemed to show even more after he suffered brain damage from Tex's attack on the base where he got a plasma grenade stuck to the side of his head. He can also come across as being annoyingly childish, even making Grif consider killing him whilst on a reconnaissance mission.
He shows pretty early on in the series that he also has no sense of direction- tending to get lost so his team mates have to correct him about where he's meant to be going a lot. He shows this when Grif and Simmons send him on a fool's errand to the Gulch's non-existent store and ends up 'buying' the Blue's flag from their base instead.
